The teacher observation form is a tool used by instructional leaders to evaluate and provide feedback to teachers on their classroom instruction. The form is divided into sections that cover different aspects of the lesson, including learning objectives, activating prior knowledge, concept development, skill development, guided practice, relevance, closure, independent practice, and small group work. Within each section, there are commendations, coaching tips/expectations for future observations, and additional comments. The purpose of the form is to provide specific feedback to teachers on their strengths and areas for improvement in each aspect of their lesson.
