Reader's Workshop--Mini Lesson

This form is inteded for an observation of a reading mini-lesson.

This teacher observation form is designed to assess the effectiveness of a Reader's Workshop mini lesson. The form includes questions about the length of the mini lesson, specific components observed during the lesson (such as the teaching point and active engagement), and whether the focus or standard of the lesson was evident in the teaching. The form also asks whether the mini lesson skill was gradually released and provides space for general comments. Additionally, the form asks whether the focus or standard was posted in the classroom or written in lesson plans.
