Mosaic
This teacher observation form is designed to help instructional leaders assess and evaluate a teacher's lesson plan. The form includes several sections, each with a specific focus on different aspects of the lesson. These sections include beginning information, a focus question, content and/or process mini-lesson, handover/look-fors, small group instruction, student work, generative questions, browsing sets of new materials/texts, previewing, close reading, taking notes, talking from notes, and nonfiction writing. Each section includes a set of questions that are designed to help the observer evaluate the effectiveness of the lesson. The questions are focused on specific aspects of the lesson, such as the part of the lesson observed, the evidence of student learning, and the teacher's use of generative questions to assess student understanding. Overall, this observation form is a useful tool for instructional leaders to use when evaluating a teacher's lesson plan and assessing student learning.
