This teacher observation form is designed to assess various aspects of a teacher's performance during a walkthrough observation. The form includes questions related to the teacher's emphasis on academic language, including oracy and accountable talk, as well as their ability to clearly articulate the lesson's learning objectives through "I can" statements. The form also evaluates the teacher's ability to re-teach when necessary, utilize background knowledge to increase comprehension and vocabulary, and model and teach comprehension skills for literal, inferential, and critical questions. Additionally, the form assesses the teacher's pacing and expectations for all students, as well as their ability to effectively co-teach with others.
