This teacher observation form is designed to assess a teacher's effectiveness in engaging students and promoting learning in the classroom. The form includes a 10 and 20 minute timer to track students' on-task behavior, as well as sections for reinforcing and correcting student behavior. The form also assesses whether expectations are clearly posted or stated, and whether there is mutual respect shown between the teacher and students. Other sections of the form evaluate the teacher's use of various instructional strategies, such as cooperative and experiential learning, labs, seat work, and direct instruction. The form also assesses the teacher's ability to manage transition time, administer quizzes, teach vocabulary, and promote open and closed knowledge and skill development.
