Mosaic
This teacher observation form assesses various aspects of a teacher's instructional practices. It evaluates the quality and frequency of questioning, the provision of purposeful and coherent questions, and the use of active responses and wait time. The form also assesses the teacher's ability to call on a balance of students based on ability and sex, and to encourage students to generate questions that lead to further inquiry and self-directed learning. Additionally, the form evaluates the teacher's use of academically focused and frequent feedback during guided practice and homework review, as well as their ability to circulate during instructional activities to support engagement and monitor student work. The teacher's use of feedback from students to adjust instruction, engagement of students in giving specific and high-quality feedback to one another, and thorough teaching of multiple types of thinking are also evaluated.
