This teacher observation form assesses whether a high expectations environment is present in the classroom. It evaluates whether students are aware of and working towards meeting the teacher's high expectations, whether they are being challenged with attainable activities and learning, and whether they are provided with exemplars of high quality work. The form also looks at whether students are engaged in rigorous coursework, discussions, and/or tasks, and whether they are being asked and responding to questions that require higher order thinking skills such as applying, evaluating, and synthesizing.
